Jersey Fresh Applesauce


4 Jersey Fresh apples (use different varieties for a more complex flavor)
3/4 cup water (or apple juice or orange juice)
1/4 cup sugar, optional (or honey or maple syrup, to taste)
1/2 tsp cinnamon, optional
squeeze of lemon juice, optional


5m prep time / 20m cook time

1. Combine chopped apples, water, sugar and cinnamon in a sauce pan
2. Bring to a boil over medium heat
3. Reduce heat to low, cover, simmer for 20 minutes
4. Using an immersion blender, blend until reaches the consistency you prefer - whether chunky or smooth
5. Can be served warm or cold
